Accreditation

A 'Centre for Professional Excellence in Cooperatives' (C-PEC) has been established at the Bankers’ Institute of Rural Development in Lucknow by NABARD to enhance the standards of cooperative training institutes. This centre evaluates different cooperative training institutes, rating them based on the professionalism exhibited and the infrastructural facilities available. Our institute has also received accreditation from C-PEC.

Agriculture Cooperative Staff Training Institute (ACSTI) and Junior Level Training Centre (JLTC)

The Institute has been duly authorized to provide accredited training programs for the staff of SCB, DCCBs, GSCARDB (Gujarat State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Bank), and PACs, with valuable accreditation and financial support from NABARD. These esteemed programs have been successfully conducted since 2003.

Function

The division oversees a wide range of activities, primarily focusing on training programs for employees and staff members of cooperatives and rural development institutes. These programs address key areas such as management, banking, law, marketing, and business development. Specifically, the MDP division caters to the training needs of professionals and leaders in the cooperative sector. Participants include individuals from District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs), Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), Urban Cooperative Banks, Regional Rural Banks (RRBs), Credit Societies, Sugar Mills, Agricultural Producer Marketing Committees (APMCs), and Milk Cooperative Societies. Training is also provided to officials from various government departments. Annually, NICM organizes over 100 training programs, engaging more than 3,000 participants.

Academic Linkages

The Institute has established strong academic linkages with several government agencies, including the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Co. Ltd (GLPC), and the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (AATMA), among others. Through these partnerships, we actively contribute our expertise to develop comprehensive training modules and conduct specialized programs in areas such as management, accounting, banking, leadership, and financial inclusion. Our collaborative efforts are designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of participants, equipping them with the necessary tools to excel in their respective fields. By working closely with these government agencies, we ensure that our training programs are aligned with the evolving needs and priorities of the rural development and cooperative sectors.

Government Diploma in Cooperation and Accountancy

NICM has been recognized by the Gujarat Government's Cooperation Department as a nodal center for the Government Diploma in Cooperative & Accountancy (GDC&A). This prestigious designation entrusts NICM with the responsibility of facilitating examinations for the GDC&A, further affirming our institute’s commitment to excellence in cooperative and accountancy education.

Training Partner for PACS Computerization Project

NICM serves as a training partner in the 'Centrally-Sponsored Project for Computerization of PACS,' initiated by the Ministry of Cooperation. In this role, NICM provides essential training to officials from District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) and Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS). This project aims to computerize PACS operations, streamline their processes, and enhance their efficiency.

As a training partner, NICM plays a pivotal role in the modernization and digitization of PACS, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet the evolving needs of their members and provide efficient financial services. The collaboration between the Ministry of Cooperation, NICM, DCCBs, and PACS is vital for the success of this initiative and fosters growth and development within the cooperative sector.

Special Programmes

In addition to organizing training programs for officers and executives of cooperative organizations, the Institute conducts specialized training for various stakeholders. These programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of board members of Cooperative Societies, Auditors, District Registrars of the Cooperatives Department, and board nominees. Furthermore, the Institute offers study courses designed for Chartered Accountants (CAs) and auditors responsible for conducting statutory concurrent audits of cooperative banks and societies. Through these targeted initiatives, the Institute aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of individuals in key roles within the cooperative sector.
