Details of Event: The structured 5-day Engagement Program from August 3 to August 7, 2026, formally guided
the executive onboarding and strategic integration process for the new MBA Batch 2026-28 at Shri Jairambhai Patel Institute of Business Management and Computer Applications (SJPINICM), Gandhinagar. This foundational program was specifically created to connect the shift from various undergraduate perspectives to a unified, strongly collaborative corporate leadership environment. Through the integration of technical capacity enhancements, executive communication strategies, and engaging group problem-solving exercises, the orientation series effectively created a unified institutional foundation emphasizing technical adaptability, emotional awareness, leadership responsibility, and enduring professional relationship development.

Day-Wise Session Execution & Tentative Contents
Day 1 (Monday, August 3, 2026) initiated this transition with dual modules centred around relational bonding and industry integration. The opening session, “Know Your Fellow” managed by Dr. Urvi Amin and Dr. Shivani Parmar, leveraged active ice-breaking interactions, peer profile deep-dives, and community-building exercises designed to disassemble social friction and spark team-wide collaborative foundations. This was directly reinforced by Dr. Priyanka Batra’s “Alumni Experience Sharing” forum, where distinguished former graduate Mr. Kavan Chavda discussed employer expectations, workplace culture, professional ethics, communication skills, teamwork, adaptability, and continuous learning. students asked questions related to career choices, workplace challenges, and professional growth and the activity reinforced key takeaways and encourage students to develop a career-ready mindset.
Day 2 (Tuesday, August 4, 2026) target-focused professional branding habits and the tactical use of frontier technology in professional learning. Dr. Priyanka Batra delivered an intensive masterclass on “Email Etiquette and Dressing for Professional Communication”, where it introduced students to the fundamentals of professional communication through email etiquette and workplace dressing standards. Students learnt the structure of a professional email, including subject lines, salutations, message body, tone, and proper closing. Common email writing mistakes and best practices were discussed using real-life examples. The academic track immediately modernized with Dr. Krunal Joshi’s module, “Integrating AI in Academics.” The students were briefed on what is AI and how AI tools operate. They were also sensitized towards what could be the probable mistakes that AI can make and so they should not rely sole on the output and use it as it is. They need to fact check the output and understand it before using it in their projects or academic work. The students were also made to learn how to make better prompts for better AI output.
Days 3 and 4 (Wednesday, August 5 & Thursday, August 6, 2026) integrated foundational soft skill matrices with objective operational challenges. Dr. Zalak Trivedi executed a highly analytical component on “Effective Listening”, where students understood the significance of listening as an essential component of the communication process. The discussion covered key concepts such as the difference between hearing and listening, various modes and types of listening, common barriers to effective listening, techniques for developing effective listening skills, and the importance of listening in academic success, professional growth, and interpersonal relationships. Academic exploration widened through Dr. Urvi Amin and Dr. Shivani Parmar’s “Read to Lead: Fiction & Non-Fiction Exploration for Skill Building”, which offered to expose students to the richness of both fiction and non-fiction literature. The session combined guided reading, interactive discussions, and short reflective exercises. The interactive program included thought-provoking discussions and quizzes on General Knowledge, Politics, and Mythology. Students actively participated, sharing perspectives and testing their knowledge in a collaborative environment. Competitive performance was integrated via Dr. Jigna Trivedi’s structured “Business Quiz”, promoted active participation, improved business knowledge, strengthened analytical and reasoning skills, and encouraged
students to stay updated with current developments in the business world. It also provided an engaging and competitive learning environment while enabling faculty to assess students’ conceptual understanding. These behavioural concepts culminated in Dr. Preeti Singhal’s critical strategic blueprint, “Role of Emotional Quotient and Time Management for Success in Professional Life”, which delivered practical templates on understanding and managing emotions, importance of managing emotional intelligence and time management and its importance for professional success.
Day 5 (Friday, August 7, 2026) concluded the program with an intensive experiential simulation led by Dr. Chaitali Shah and Dr. Zalak Trivedi. The “Desert Survival Challenge” simulation acted as the program’s capstone, dropping teams into high-pressure scarcity parameters where individual survival inventories had to be reconciled into unified group priority lists. It was an experiential team-based activity designed for MBA first students to develop managerial competencies through simulated decision-making. Students were presented with a scenario in which their aircraft has crash-landed in a desert and they must survive with a limited set of 15 available resources

Each session had separate attendance record being populated which is available in the event file. However, across all sessions and days, about 45+ students attended the sessions which is about 70 percentage of the class strength.

Students Feedback:

Sujal Panchal, Preet Bhatt, Parmar Yashvi and majority of the students were quite satisfied with the engagement program’s planning and execution. Some important takeaways that they had were in the areas of:

• Learning new concepts
• Team work
• How to integrate fun with learning
• Importance of professional writing and ensuring enough business knowledge

They were quite happy with the friendly and guiding support from all the faculty speakers and wished more such programs can be organized in future.
