Summary of Case: Goyenka is a steel manufacturing company with 9000 employees in India and foreign countries. They have a large HR department with 150 HR professionals and want to expand their business in major cities. HR head Sanjay Yadav proposed an HR audit for their existing practices, and the CEO agreed to it. An audit consultant Ms. Shivani Sharma and her team conducted a rigorous process, auditing various HR practices, programs, compliances, and policies. After three months, they submitted a detailed report to the board of directors with recommendations for improvements. However, the HR department was too busy with business expansion plans and vertical integration to leverage the advantages of their HR practices.

It is a well-known and respected institute in the area, with a 100% placement record for the past three years. Despite its esteemed faculty and state-of-the-art infrastructure, the quality of students has been declining. To address this, the institute has introduced contemporary subjects like enterprise resource planning and data analytics, as well as workshops on personality development and business etiquettes. Industry experts are also invited to speak and engage in panel discussions. However, these efforts have not significantly improved attendance. The institute even implemented attendance criteria, but it hasn't had the desired effect.
