Research

The research is conducted by the faculties and the students. The students carry out three different projects, like Summer Internship Project (SIP), a Multidisciplinary Action Research Project (MAP), and a Comprehensive Project (CP). SIP caters to the understanding of the applications of theory to practice. MAP involves identifying the solution to a problem or evaluating the prospective opportunity. CP encourages students to conduct primary or secondary research and fill out the void in the existing domain of research. Apart from teaching, the faculties are occupied with writing research papers, presenting the papers in conferences, and equipping themselves with new research skills by participating in various faculty development programmes, and short-term training programmes.

The core objectives of the research are:

  • Support researchers for writing research papers in journals of different repute and categories.

  • Encourage researchers to write books and monographs and publish the same with the publishers of repute.

  • Motivate researchers to participate in the conference, faculty development programmes, short-term training programmes, certificate programmes, seminars, and workshops.

  • Inspire researchers to pen down the teaching case studies and case-lets.

  • Persuade researchers to enhance their research and teaching knowledge.

The department has been associated with several committees and working groups while some of the officers have served on the external as well as internal working groups as members. One major contribution of the department has been the involvement of its faculty in almost all the major assignments for institute’s consultancy activities. The department has also extended faculty support for agencies like NABARD, Agriculture Universities, Cooperative Banks and other organizations in Gujarat State.
